Skipton's beacon of remembrance

This coming Sunday is, of course, Remembrance Sunday. Full details of the parade and wreath-laying ceremony will be available later in the week - but, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, Skipton will be taking part in "Battle's Over - A Nation's Tribute' as one of 1,000 towns and villages lighting a beacon at exactly 7pm. Skipton's beacon will be on top of Holy Trinity Church tower. The lighting of the beacon will be followed, at 7.05pm with a special peal of bells. Everyone welcome in the churchyard from 6.45pm.
