Memorial bench: The Bradley Show committee is to organise a memorial bench for Neil Pate. Neil was the bookings secretary for the village hall for many years. He was also a keen fell runner and consistently won the trophy for the fastest local runner. If anyone would like to contribute towards the cost of the bench, which is planned for the playing fields, please leave a contribution at the village store.
Women’s Institute: The next meeting of the WI will be held in the village hall at 7pm on Monday when members will have a hands-on demonstration of line dancing.
Methodist Church: The Methodist Church will hold an Easter workshop next Thursday, March 24, between 3.30pm and 5pm, where there will be various activities and refreshments. There will be an Easter Sunday service and Sunday School on March 27, to which everyone is welcome. The next Messy Church will be held on Sunday, May 15, between 3pm and 5pm. This year’s charity concert will be held on Saturday, June 18.
Parish council: There have been nine responses to the vacancy for parish clerk and interviews are being arranged. The final draft of Bradley’s Neighbourhood Plan is due to go out to public consultation at the end of the month.
School news: Cracoe class (class two) enjoyed a visit to St. Mary’s Church, during which they got to play the organ and ring the bell. Farnhill Class (class three) had a visit from the “Bug lady”, when they got to handle giant snails, cockroaches and stick insects. The school is holding a Fashion Show at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 20, and tickets are on sale now at the school and village shop, at £5 each.
Whist: New members are welcome at the whist group, which meets on a Thursday from 7pm to 10pm in the village hall. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Table tennis: There are table tennis sessions at the village hall from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on a Tuesday and from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on a Friday. For more information, phone 01535 630470.
